As I have worked on researching our family tree over the past several decades, I have come to realize that writing and compiling a family history is more than just building a family tree and gathering the items to go along with. A family tree by itself does not create a story, it does not build a cohesive narrative of who we were and where we came from.  It does not explain in simple English, what happened and what was involved. So, this is my attempt to weave together a more compelling, narrative, and hopefully a more interesting story of us.

I know putting this story together is going to be an almost monumental task, even compared to the genealogy research itself.  This website will most certainly be what is often called a “living document “.  A “living document” (also called a dynamic or evergreen document) is a document that is continually edited, updated, and revised to reflect the most current state of information, conditions, or understanding.  The key idea is that it is never considered final, but is designed to evolve and adapt over time.
